Mac mini tray

Three Mac minis in 2U, with A/B power, per-bay capture, and DFU control.

Mac minis, run like servers. Three bays in 2U with A/B power feeds through an automatic transfer switch, per-bay fusing and current telemetry, and the same capture pods as the WK chassis watching every screen. Mac minis are not included. Part of the rack line, listed on the enterprise store.

Documentation coming soon

Setup guides, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting for the Mac mini tray are being written and will land here before it ships. The specifications below are current. If you need something specific in the meantime, get in touch.

What it does

  • Power like a datacenter. Two C14 feeds through an automatic transfer switch, with a relay, fusing, and current telemetry per bay.
  • The power button, solved. A servo-driven actuator works the physical button with timed tap, force-off, and DFU hold sequences, with a spring-return failsafe.
  • DFU without hands. A per-bay USB-PD controller on the DFU port adds programmatic reboot, DFU entry, and a serial console. Preliminary.
  • Watched like the racks. HDMI and USB capture per bay, using the same pods as the WK chassis ports.
  • Customer traffic stays passive. Three passive Ethernet passthroughs; tenant traffic never touches the tray's electronics.
  • Grows in the field. Start with the bare enclosure and add the managed electronics later; the upgrade kit is field-installable.
